The Sustainable Development department, in many course offerings, teaches students about food choices and the implications therein.

Our dining facilities have signage about ongoing sustainability initiatives as they relate to food and special events. We identify local food items by an 'Always Local' decal.

Through the Sustainable Development department, there is a opportunity to participate in an on-campus garden program. It is called the Edible Schoolyard and is available for students, faculty and staff to use. The premise is that the campus community can 'rent' a plot for free and grow vegetables, fruit and/or flowers in their plot. The food is theirs to keep and/or share.
