In 2008-2009 the Chancellor's Task Force for Diversity sent a survey to all constituency groups on campus to assess campus climate and individual experiences with respect to diversity on campus. The Task Force also conducted focus groups with students and employees to gather information about diversity on campus.

The information gathered from these assessments was used in shaping the draft Plan for Diversity that the Task Force submitted to the Chancellor in the summer of 2009.
