Students have the opportunity to receive credit for mindfulness courses, Yoga Teacher Training and participation in weekly group fitness classes.
Antioch staff and faculty have free access to the College's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which offers resources and consultation around areas such as confidential emotional support, work-life solutions, legal guidance, financial resources, online support, help for new parents, and online will preparation. Staff and faculty also receive a 50% discount on Antioch Wellness Center memberships.
The Wellness Center at Antioch College is where students, faculty, staff and community members come to fulfill their fitness and wellness goals. The 44,000 square foot facility has a fitness room, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, competition length swimming pool and therapeutic whirlpool. The historic building was renovated in 2014 and is a certified LEED gold building.
Each week the Wellness Center hosts mindfulness moments for faculty, staff and students. These sessions provide opportunities for relaxation, stress release and helps to encourage a campus climate of compassion and understanding. These sessions are led by faculty and staff trained in mindfulness and yoga. The Senior Leadership Team opens every meeting with a mindfulness moment.
