The purpose of the Antioch College Campus Sustainability Committee is to generate, evaluate, and implement initiatives that relate to one or more dimensions of social, economic, and environmental sustainability. In keeping with the Antioch College Vision statement, the committee seeks to advance initiatives that further the pursuit of new and better ways of living through intentional linkages between classroom and experiential education. The committee provides an ongoing forum for discussing institutional practices related to sustainability, and fosters a culture of sustainable living through a diversity of education, research, operations, and community service activities. The Committee consists of representatives from across the College, including faculty, co-op, staff, and students. Its meetings are open to all campus community members. Decisions are made in the spirit of consensus. Proposed sustainability initiatives are brought to the appropriate authorizing committee prior to implementation, ranging from the Board of Trustees, Senior Leadership Team, Master Planning Steering Committee, to faculty or individual departments.

The Antioch College Campus Sustainability Committee is a campus-wide committee responsible for broad sustainability coordination across the College. In the previous three years, principal activities and accomplishments over the past three years included: 1. Bi-weekly meetings of the interdepartmental committee, providing a regular venue for sharing, planning, and collaborating 2. Through the primary work of the Kitchens, we enrolled in the Real Foods Challenge, and achieved a listing bested by only one school nationwide 3. Submitted Antioch College data to the Princeton Review Green Colleges Index 4. Sent faculty and students to AASHE (2015) 5. Hired and supervised student workers to make progress on a campus greenhouse gas inventory and campus resource dashboards 6. Gained board approval for a campus landscaping master plan 7. Gained Senior Leadership approval for policies relating to vehicle idling, computer purchasing, cleaning product purchasing, office paper use and purchasing 8. Participated in the annual meetings of sustainability coordinators from the Great Lakes Colleges Association
