Thes following initiatives were part of Anne Arundel Community College’s “It’s easy being green” campaign" that is still in effect. The college... 1) Instituted a paper, aluminum plastic and glass recycling program with clearly marked receptacles. 2) Built the newest college building with a green roof that saves energy and money 3) Instituted a carpool program 4) Created cool new cloth bags and made them available on the “honor” system to cut down on the need for and use of plastic bags http://www.aacc.edu/aboutaacc/file/CommunityMagEd208.pdf

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):
Anne Arundel Community College has greatly decreased the number of trash pickups and kept aluminum, paper, plastic and glass out of our landfills. The College recycled 57 more tons of material in 2009 compared with 2008.
