A brief description of the diversity and equity committee, office and/or officer, including purview and activities:
The diversity office oversees the Multicultural Resource Center, Women and Gender Center, and Queer Resource Center. It develops programming and training as well as providing oversight on the mission and goal of each resource center. The office administers programming on diversity during orientation and through the residential life community. Additionally, there is an advisory board on campus policy that advises on recruitment and retention, training and education, community engagement, inclusion policy, leadership development, among others. The office works closely with the Dean of the Faculty, Human Resources, and the Dean of the Students.

In collaboration with the diversity office and the provost, the office of human resources has included diversity training in their new employee orientation. These efforts are relatively new and HR is working to create a consistent and permanent program. Cultural competence training for students is available during orientation as well as through consistent programming from the three campus resource centers.
