Amherst participates in both the MassRides program and the UMASS Rideshare program. MassRIDES is the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s statewide travel options program, providing free assistance to anyone who wants to save money, save time, and improve their commute. Travelers and commuters throughout the Commonwealth can go online to find a carpool partner, or receive information on transit options. UMass Rideshare is a carpool assistance program that lists the names of carpoolers who have similar schedules and routes.
