4.1 Sustainable investment policy or committee

AU's ESG policy states the university will prudently integrate ethical and social values to align mission-related considerations while achieving maximum risk-adjusted returns. As part of the investment process, AU will consider an investment manager’s integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) as part of the investment process. AU will seek to invest alongside investment managers that seek to reduce carbon emissions and greenhouse gases, while also integrating solutions to climate change.

Since April 2020 within the public markets’ investment portfolio, the university employs a negative screen and prohibits investments in public securities of companies listed on the Carbon Underground 200 top oil and gas companies.
