The Procurement and Contracts Department works with the Sustainable Issues Project Team to encourage the use of products that minimize adverse environmental and health effects and take into consideration costs associated with the full product life cycles. The Vice President of Sustainability at Chartwells Higher Education, our dining service, provided an inventory list including spend on sustainable products as well as total spend. Spring semester data was used and it is a conservative data sample since less in season produce is available during the winter which makes up most of spring semester.
