Does the institution maintain a student-managed investment fund that has a sustainability or environmental, social, and governance (ESG) focus?:
Narrative and/or website URL providing an overview of the sustainability or ESG-focused student-managed investment fund:
Led by the Kogod School of Business, the course Environmental, Social, and Governance Funds features students researching and evaluating investment opportunities with strong ESG practices. The course engages students in the university’s financial future by featuring student-faculty collaboration to research and recommend investment opportunities to the Board of Trustees. Once the recommendations are approved by the committee, the investments are funded within AU’s endowment. Students in the program also gain valuable knowledge, guidance, and career preparation from the university’s financial advisors at Cliffwater. Morningstar, a leading provider of independent investment research, provides class materials to support the program.
