9.1 Inter-campus collaboration for sustainability
Description of the institution’s participation in sustainability-focused networks for educational institutions:
AU participates in the DC Mayor's College and University Sustainability Pledge (CUSP) which includes quarterly meetings across all district universities to meet and discuss sustainability.
AU also paritipates in several Second Nature discussion groups.

American University (AU) and the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) came together to create an on-demand presentation for the 2023 AASHE Conference on lessons-learned while developing sustainability-data focused, accessible Tableau and Datawrapper dashboards for the public. The session began with sharing how each university started the process of creating data visualizations, where they are at now, and future goals for the dashboards. The universities will help attendees start -- or make a case to develop -- similar data dashboards at their institutions.

AU's sustainability director participates in AASHE's mentorship program and has worked with Emerson College in Boston in 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 and they continue to meet monthly.

Megan Litke, Director of Sustainability was elected to be the co-chair of the DC Mayor's College and University Sustainability Pledge (CUSP) for 2024. She also participates in the AASHE Advisory Council.
