AU's School of Communication offers flexible meeting space for a variety of different meetings and events. Non-profits are able to access these rooms at a discounted price.

The Community Garden at American University is a student run initiative that seeks to provide the AU and broader DC communities with local, fresh, ethically cultivated produce. The garden is open 24/7 and all community members are welcome to harvest.

Description of the institution’s publicly accessible facilities that provide cultural services:

The American University Museum hosts rotating exhibitions of contemporary art from around the globe and the Alper Initiative, a dedicated research and display space for the art history of Washington, DC. The musuem also permanently houses AU's Watkins Collection, the Cyrus and Myrtle Katzen Collection, and the Alper Initiative for Washington Art. These exhibitions are free to the public.

During the Spring and Fall semesters, all AU Library floors are available for use by the AU and broader community until 2AM Sunday-Thursday and until 9PM Friday-Saturday.

AU has a two mile camput fitness trail accessible for free to the public. The trail showcases our campus and highlights unique achievements of our campus, faculty, students, and alumni.
