Antiracist Research & Policy Center

The Antiracist Research & Policy Center was founded in 2018 by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, author of "How To Be An Antiracist."

The mission of The Antiracist Research & Policy Center (ARPC) is to convene and team up varied specialists to figure out novel and practical ways to understand, explain, and solve seemingly intractable problems of racial inequity and injustice. Our research and policy work is deliberately antiracist. We consider racist policies and ideas, and not certain racial groups, to be the racial problem. We strive to build an antiracist society of racial equity and justice.

The center has research and policy teams in 6 thematic areas: education, economy, environment, health, politics, and justice reform. Teams work together in these areas to research how best to dismantle racist structures, practices, and institutions that reproduce racial inequities.

The center also organizes high-profile public events and educational campaigns that put antiracist change agents in conversation and transform the racial narrative.

In December 2018, ARPC launched a weekly web series, "Antiracism and America" project with The Guardian. "Antiracism and America" sought to provide hope essential for change, while examining the policies and ideas sustaining a racist society. The series highlighted writers, scholars, activists, and others committed to dismantling racial inequities, moving toward an antiracist United States of America.
