A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and Human Resources developed and conducted an internally developed Climate and Engagement Staff Survey and a Faculty Survey in spring 2019.

They went out to all PT and FT staff and faculty (excluding student staff, who got the student survey).

The survey was not mandatory, and the response rates were 51.0% of faculty and 61.1% of staff.


A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:

There is a working group that is discussing the results in order to roll them out to the community and make recommendations. It includes staff and faculty as well as student representatives.

The survey was sent to ALL PT and FT staff, academic and non-academic. The survey was not sent to a representative sample because it was sent to all staff.

Student employees were excluded, there was a separate student survey that went out but covered similar topics at the same time.
