The Office of Sustainability lead the development of AU's first comprehensive Sustainability Plan in collaboration with the Sustainability Project Team. The team is comprised of students, faculty and staff.

The plan reviews achievements and sets goals for research and education, operations and communications. A few of the plan's many goals are: achieving carbon neutrality by 2020; Zero Waste by 2015; 30 existing buildings certified to LEED silver or better by 2012.
