A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with green building design and construction guidelines and policies:
AU has an active "Sustainable Design and Construction Standards Committee" that reviews and updates university design and construction standards to conform to LEED Silver guidelines at a minimum. We have three LEED AP professionals on staff in our Office of the University Architect. Design firms for new construction projects are required contractually to provide designs that conform to LEED Silver at a minimum.
