A brief description of the institution's stormwater management initiatives:
Under the policies of the State University Construction Fund and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, all new buildings must meet the requirements necessary to achieve the equivalent of LEED Silver certification. Since "Construction Activity Pollution Prevention" is a prerequisite under LEED, Alfred State follows the LEED requirements for controlling soil erosion and waterway sedimentation on all new projects.
