A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the inventory:
In order to do a preliminary count, the Chief Sustainability Officer read through course titles and associated descriptions to identify courses that seemed to provide the knowledge, skills, or motivation to solve key sustainability challenges. Courses that had sustainability as a core focus were classified as sustainability focused. Courses that were not directly focused on sustainability but still seemed to provide knowledge, skills, or motivation to solve sustainability challenges in at least 10 percent of the course content were classified as sustainability-related. We intend to carry out a survey of faculty to gain additional insight into the integration of sustainability into courses at Alfred State.
