Description of the institution’s programs designed to incentivize the use of public transportation:
Agnes Scott Participates in the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) system U-Pass program. The U-Pass is a monthly pass for the MARTA system offered at a reduced rate for students, faculty, and staff of local colleges and universities. The college also promotes the use of the free Emory Shuttle bus system. The Emory Shuttle bus system is a free public transportation bus route around Emory University and the surrounding area. The Emory Shuttle has a stop within walking distance of Agnes Scott.
Additionally, Agnes Scott offers the Scottie Shuttle, a free shuttle service that periodically makes trips to surrounding shopping areas. The Scottie Shuttle is run by the Center for Leadership, Engagement, and Service (CLES). The CLES also typically offers the Scottie Shuttle as transportation to school-affiliated events and opportunities taking place off-campus.

Agnes Scott has the Purple Bike Program, which is a bike-sharing program run through McCain Library. Students, faculty, and staff can loan a bike from the library free of charge for use on- and off-campus. The library also offers biking equipment such as helmets and bike shoes for loan. The bikes are maintained by our Assistant Director for Recreation and Intramural Sports.

Agnes Scott facilitates the use of carpooling through the Georgia Commute Options organization. Georgia Commute Options has created several programs for carpooling, public transit and biking or walking of which Agnes Scott employees can take advantage. Employees who use sustainable commuting practices to Agnes Scott are eligible for a reduced parking pass fee.
