When Agnes Scott College began its sustainability program, the Office of Sustainability established the Sustainability Steering Committee (SSC). The committee guided the initial sustainability plan and climate action plan, while also providing assistance for all aspects of the college’s sustainability program, including STARS. The committee was made up of trustees, alumnae, students, faculty, and staff and was chaired by President Elizabeth Kiss.

In 2015, the Office of Sustainability transitioned to the Center for Sustainability which marked a transition from sustainability planning to program implementation.
