A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
1. The AUS Sustainability Office is prominently represented at all main AUS orientation events, exposing new students and their parents to the wide range of programs, events and activities offered by AUS sustainability and giving testament to AUS' mission to have sustainability at the core of the AUS student experience. 2. AUS acknowledges the importance of student health and wellbeing and introduces new students to the wide range of resources available on campus. Orientation events focusing on health and wellbeing include: - Student Success in the First Year: Wellbeing Support - Mental Health Tips with Psychology Club - Implications of social media use on AUS Campus (positive, negative, ethical, legal) 3. Furthermore, AUS Sustainability is part of AUS' "Week of Welcome", offering Cook For Change classes; cooking classes that are practical, sustainable, and nutritious for students in the residence halls. 4. AUS prides itself for its multi-cultural campus community, hence the "Week of Welcome" also introduces the various cultural clubs at AUS and ends its two-week orientation program with a "Cultural Parade"
