The methodology for determining sustainability course offerings involved identifying courses where the term "sustainability," as defined by AUS, appeared in the course name or description. Courses were further assessed based on the inclusion of sustainability-related learning outcomes or materials in the standard syllabus.
Additionally, the course descriptions were analyzed using an AI tool to identify and categorize sustainability-related content. This AI-based text analysis focused on identifying specific keywords, phrases, and themes related to sustainability. Courses were then categorized into two groups: those that are sustainability-inclusive and sustainability focused. This categorization was based on the definitions provided, ensuring a comprehensive and consistent classification of the courses.
