The health and safety baseline was adopted in August 2016. The reason behind that it create a health and safety threshold in order to starting measuring and compare health and safety performance and maintain a continual improvement cycle.

A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives, including how workers are engaged in monitoring and advising on health and safety programs:

The AUS Office of Safety and Crisis Management has put together a comprehensive health and management system that includes multiple initiatives. Below is sample of several such initiatives:
• Hazard Management (Operating Unit's Hazard Identification, Assessment and Control Program)
• Lab Safety Management (Safety and Response Procedure, Inspection Program, etc.)
• Other Work Sites (Academic Buildings, Admin Buildings, Support Buildings, and Construction Sites Inspections)
• Self Help (Online Safety and Crisis Management Interactive Cabinet, Ergonomics Self Inspection, Office Hazards Self Inspection, Quarterly Safety Committee Meeting)
• Trainings (Emergency and Crisis Response Trainings, Operational Specific Safety Trainings, Professional Safety Certification, Drills and Preparation Workshops, Campus Awareness and Campaigns)
• Online Training Platform: The Office of Safety and Crisis Management has introduced an interactive online training platform using the (ilearn system). The online training platform is capable of handling thousands of participants grouped as per their rule in the campus community (faculty, staff, students). It can automatically assign training courses as per the rule of the trainee, and associated tasks following the concept of job hazard analysis. The platform can send training materials to trainees, assign exams and create reports, assign assignments and have online forums, and share technical material as needed.
