The AUS Strategic Plan 2020 - 2025 has themes and goals which directly address sustainability, such as, Strategic Theme IV: Stewardship - Goal IV.2. Ensure that the management of resources is aligned with the strategic priorities of the university. Strategy IV.2.2. Implement energy saving and waste reduction initiatives. Strategic Theme V: Engagement & Impact - Goal V.3. Commit to our responsibility and care for the environment. Strategy V.3.1. Implement initiatives and programs that engage the community in addressing the critical environmental challenges we face today. Additionally, many of the other strategic themes, goals, and strategies can be used to address sustainability, even if not explicitly stated.

AUS sits on the board of UN Global Compact UAE Local Network, which is a network of 130+ UAE companies (including AUS SBA) signed up to the Global Compact. As part of being a leader of the UNGC UAE Local Network group AUS students have been leaders in building out the “UNGC UAE Youth Program” as Youth Ambassadors. AUS materially supports by giving resources and representation from senior AUS faculty.
