- Energy, Environment and Sustainability (Dr. Mohamed Abouleish, Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences) The course provides participants from all industries and career levels with the essential knowledge and the critical parameters involved in advancing sustainability through business, society, government and academia. The course also introduces current renewable energy technologies available in the market and guides participants to explore the advantages and risks associated with implementing renewable technologies. - Empowering Women into Leadership and Excellence (Dr. Savita Kumra, Department of Management) This course is aimed at women managers who wish to increase their influence in the senior management team; but feel they are operating in an environment in which culture and politics are sometimes constraining and mysterious. The course will guide participants through a structured environmental analysis - utilizing a gender lens; and enable participants to understand gender diversity issues in the workplace, and develop personal tactics and strategies on how to deal with these issues and gain advancement opportunities. Such knowledge may not only be personally beneficial but may also be of use in coaching other women. The program is also of use to women who are looking for leadership development to support a recent or future promotion. - Green Development and Environmental Affairs (Prof. John E. Katsos, Department of Management) This course was designed to raise the level of “Sustainability Mastery” for UAE government employees and equip them with the necessary knowledge to effectively apply sustainability management and policy at a national and international level. Participants will receive instruction and participate in experiential learning assignments in eight general areas: The Dimensions of Sustainable Development, Ecological Economics & Policy, Sustainability Metrics, Environmental Management & Sustainability, Ecosystems and Climate Change, Supporting Software Training.

Sustainability and Environment - Executive Diploma Program (created in 2019) Program Description: The Executive Diploma Program was designed to promote established government employees with an interest in sustainability into "Sustainability Ambassadors" in their organization. In Module One, participants learn about the fundamentals of the role sustainability plays in governmental and industry organizational management today. Participants will work with interdisciplinary faculty to review case studies from organizations that have achieved success and faced challenges in implementing their organizations sustainability framework. Modules Two to Five of the program are delivered in an applied experiential learning format. This includes workshop style sessions, field work, and mentor feedback. The modules will allow the practitioners to build the necessary competencies to create an organizational sustainability framework and to assess an identified challenge, then design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive sustainability project. By the end of this program, participants will be able to:  Lead sustainability on a strategic level in all government entities in confidence  Assess, identify, and manage opportunities and risks from a sustainability perspective  Adopt a strategic stakeholder engagement approach  Develop, implement, monitor and communicate sustainability strategies and initiatives  Improve sustainability performance, government profile and competitiveness  Ability to effectively disclose organizational strategies, material issues, impacts, and performance
