New Faculty and Staff, at various point of the year depending on their hire date, are given a full day onboarding session where they are introduced to the various aspects of working at the university and AUS Sustainability gives a focused introduction of the concept of sustainable development, highlights of the AUS sustainability office, the team members and their responsibilities. The presentation includes a detailed introduction of - AUS Sustainability's key priorities (Energy, Waste, Nutrition and Community Service) - AUS Sustainability staff and student workers - academic goals for sustainability education - community engagement on and off campus - operational goals for AUS campus management In addition to the presentation, new staff and faculty are given AUS branded reusable shopping bags and water bottles, further signaling AUS's commitment to banning single-use plastics on campus.
