At AUS, we offer a number of grants to help low income students with their education costs.
Grants
**** Chancellor’s Scholars Award
First-time students who have paid the seat reservation
deposit by the deadline specified on the letter of admission
and who meet the following requirements may apply for
this highly competitive award:
• outstanding personal qualities and leadership abilities
in school and the community
• scientific or literary contributions to the community
• special school or community honors or awards
• community service
• school extracurricular activities as detailed in an essay
the student must submit
• a minimum average of 95 percent or equivalent in the
last three years of secondary education
• limited financial resources
The award is offered in fall semesters only; it is granted
for the academic year, provided the recipient continues
to meet the requirements at the end of the fall semester.
It covers 75 to 100 percent of the student’s tuition (for
a maximum of 16 credit hours) and lab/technology
fees. Recipients who live on campus in single, double
or sharing rooms are granted partial assistance toward
their residential hall fees.
The Chancellor's Scholars Award is awarded for a
maximum period of eight semesters from the time of
matriculation into the university; it is awarded for 10
semesters for students in majors offered by the College
of Engineering and 11 semesters for students in the
Bachelor of Architecture program. The maximum
eligibility period does not include the semesters enrolled
in the Achievement Academy Bridge Program.

****Family Tuition Grant
For families with more than one child simultaneously
enrolled at AUS as full-time undergraduates in a degree
program, a tuition discount of 25 percent is given to
each sibling after the first. The 25 percent discount is
granted for both tuition (for a maximum of 16 credit
hours) and lab/technology fees. The grant is awarded
for fall and spring semesters, as well as for the summer
term.
**** Financial Grant
Through financial grants, AUS financially assists full time
undergraduate students who demonstrate limited
financial resources. A financial grant is normally
awarded for two consecutive semesters. Financial grants
apply to AUS summer terms, provided the student was
on financial grant in the spring semester of the same
academic year and is registered in credit bearing courses
for the summer term.
A financial grant is awarded for a maximum period of
eight semesters from the time of matriculation into the
university; it is awarded for 10 semesters for students
in majors offered by the College of Engineering and 11
semesters for students in the Bachelor of Architecture
program. The maximum eligibility period does not
include the semesters enrolled in the Achievement
Academy Bridge Program. Financial grants are reevaluated
every year.
The award covers 5-50 percent of the student's tuition
(for a maximum of 16 credits). Students on financial
grant who live on campus in single, double or sharing
rooms are granted partial assistance toward their
residential hall fees.
First-time, transfer and returning students who
demonstrate limited financial resources and have paid
the seat reservation deposit by the deadline specified
on the letter of admission may apply for a financial
grant in fall, spring and/or summer. The amount
awarded depends on the financial need and academic
qualifications of the applicant.

At AUS, we offer a number of scholarships to help qualified students with their education costs.
*****Academic Accomplishment Scholarship
First time students who demonstrate academic excellence
by achieving a minimum cumulative average grade score
between 90.00 and 94.99 percent or its equivalent in
either i) at least two of the last three years or ii) the final
year of their secondary education may be eligible for a
Academic Accomplishment Scholarship.
Application forms are not required. First-time students
are evaluated for eligibility at admission time. Academic
Accomplishment Scholarships of enrolled students are
automatically renewed as long as the conditions for
maintaining the scholarship are met.
The scholarship is granted by semester. It covers 10
percent of both tuition (for a maximum of 16 credit
hours) and the lab/technology fees. Continuing students
who meet the conditions for maintaining the Academic
Accomplishment Scholarship at the end of a spring
semester are granted this scholarship for the summer term
of the same academic year, provided they are registered
in credit bearing courses for an AUS summer term.
The Academic Accomplishment Scholarship is awarded
for a maximum period of eight semesters from the
time of matriculation into the university; it is awarded
for 10 semesters for students in majors offered by the
College of Engineering and 11 semesters for students
in the Bachelor of Architecture program. The maximum
eligibility period does not include the semesters enrolled
in the Achievement Academy Bridge Program.
*****Active Student Scholarship
Active Student Scholarships are awarded to
undergraduate students who have excelled in
extracurricular activities and whose efforts have yielded
exceptional results.
The scholarships provide up to 50 percent tuition
remission (for a maximum of 16 credits) and are granted
on a renewable semester basis.
The scholarship program aims to encourage and support
students who have served the community and the
university.
*******Athletic Scholarship Program
Athletic scholarships are offered by the Office of Student
Affairs to talented student-athletes who demonstrate
athletic excellence and outstanding sports qualities with
the aim of helping them finance their studies at AUS.
Student Athletics and Recreation recruits and retains
elite student-athletes, offers them partial athletic
scholarships, and provides them with professional
coaching so that they can represent AUS and compete
at the highest level of intercollegiate sports. The partial
athletic scholarship includes up to 50 percent tuition
remission and is awarded on a renewable semester basis.
Athletic scholarships are granted to eligible studentathletes
subject to terms and conditions of the AUS
Athletic Scholarship Program
*******Chancellor's List Scholarship

are eligible for a Chancellor’s List Scholarship, which
provides a tuition remission (for a maximum of 16
credits) of up to 5 percent including lab/technology fees.

the Chancellor’s List, provided that in this semester the
student is enrolled as a full-time student and is receiving
no more than 95 percent of student financial grant and/
or scholarship from AUS and other external sponsors.
Application forms are not required. The Chancellor’s List
Scholarship is awarded during the third or fourth week
of classes of the fall semester.
********Dean’s List Scholarship
Subject to available budget, students placed on the
Dean’s List at the end of the fall or spring semesters are
eligible for a Dean’s List Scholarship, which provides a
tuition remission (for a maximum of 16 credit hours)
of up to 10 percent including lab/technology fees. This
remission is applicable to the semester immediately
following the semester when the student was placed
on the Dean’s List, provided that in this semester the
student is enrolled as a full-time student and is receiving
no more than 90 percent of student financial grant and/
or scholarship from AUS and other external sponsors.
Application forms are not required. The Dean’s List
Scholarship is awarded during the third or fourth week
of classes of the fall and spring semesters; it is not
available in the summer.
*******Distinguished Student Scholarship
First-time students who have achieved distinction
by achieving a minimum cumulative average grade
score of 95.00 percent or its equivalent in either i) at
least two of the last three years or ii) the final year
of their secondary education may be eligible for a
Distinguished Student Scholarship.
Application forms are not required. First-time students
are evaluated for eligibility by the university at the time
of admission. A Distinguished Student Scholarship will
be automatically renewed as long as the conditions
for maintaining the scholarship are met. Students
who have not met the conditions for maintaining the
Distinguished Student Scholarship may be considered
for an Academic Accomplishment Scholarship if they
have met the conditions for maintaining the Academic
Accomplishment Scholarship.
The Distinguished Student Scholarship is granted by
semester. It covers 20 percent of both tuition (for a
maximum of 16 credits) and the lab/technology fees.
Continuing students who meet the conditions for
maintaining the Distinguished Student Scholarship at the
end of a spring semester are granted this scholarship for
the summer term of the same academic year, provided
they are registered in credit bearing courses for a
summer term in residence at AUS.
The Distinguished Student Scholarship is awarded for
a maximum period of eight semesters from the time
of matriculation into the university; it is awarded for
10 semesters for students in majors offered by the
College of Engineering and 11 semesters for students
in the Bachelor of Architecture program. The maximum
eligibility period does not include the semesters enrolled
in the Achievement Academy Bridge Program.
********Sharakah School Scholarship
Partner Sharakah program schools can nominate
exceptional students from their school for a Sharakah
School Scholarship. To qualify for this highly competitive
scholarship, nominated students must meet the
following requirements:
• demonstrate outstanding personal qualities and
leadership abilities in school and the community
• have made scientific or literary contributions to his/her
local community
• received special honors or awards for community
service and school extracurricular activities
• achieved a minimum average of 95 percent or
equivalent in at least two of the last three years of his/
her secondary education
Applicants with limited financial resources will be given
priority in consideration.
The award is granted for the academic year, provided
the recipient continues to meet the requirements at the
end of every semester. It covers 50 to 100 percent of
the student’s tuition (for a maximum of 16 credit hours)
and lab/technology fees. Recipients who live on campus
in single, double or sharing rooms are granted partial
assistance toward their residential hall fees.
The Sharakah School Scholarship is awarded for a
maximum period of eight semesters from the time of
matriculation into the university; it is awarded for 10
semesters for students in majors offered by the College
of Engineering and 11 semesters for students in the
Bachelor of Architecture program. The maximum
eligibility period does not include the semesters enrolled
in the Achievement Academy Bridge Program. Sharakah
School Scholarships are re-evaluated at the end of every
regular semester.
