AUS has a vibrant student life community that is managed by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA). There are two "interest" clubs that are supported via OSA, the Sustainability Club and the Environmental Club.

AUS_Greenhouse is a student led initiative revolved around building a greenhouse on campus out of recycled plastic bottles. While the program is in it's first stages the Greenhouse will be used by AUS students to experiment with ways growing can be done in harsh desert environments with minimal use of water and other natural resources. Careful attention will be paid to on how temperature, humidity levels and soil conditions can be exploited to various agricultural strategies.

Every month the Sustainability Office has a different theme, in which different events are organized around that theme. The month of February was ABC modes of transportation - Anything But Cars, in which we encourage students to use other forms of transportation rather than cars. With every theme, the Sustainability Office Organizes a panel series in which speakers and guests talk about that specific theme (sustainable transport) and student and community members are welcome to join.

AUS Sustainability provides internship opportunities each semester for up to 4 students. These paid positions allow students to help plan and participate in a variety of Sustainability projects and programs throughout the academic year. Recent projects have included completing the initial AUS AASHE STARS report, social media campaigns highlighting relevant Sustainability topics, monthly themes/events and sustainability operation projects such as the AUS On Campus Faculty/Staff Housing Electricity Monitoring effort.

The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) is a non-profit government organization which supports entrepreneurs, building businesses that serve as engines for socio-economic development. Sheraa cultivates change-makers out of young talent, nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit that celebrates infinite possibility, and building a thriving entrepreneurship ecosystem essentially from scratch.
